Help -- Job Hunter: Search Form
Location
Restrict your job search by location. This option works best when Posting Type (below) is not checked. There is no single standard for putting in location information in postings to Newsgroups. As a result, location matches may match any extraneous address, such as the recruiter's. Jobs that are posted directly to the Help-Wanted.Network are more likely to match properly.

Currently, locations are encoded as follows: CC-ST-City where CC is the 2 letter country code, ST is the 2 letter state code, and City is the name of the city. Not all listings are currently encoded. Complete location encoding and advanced location searching should be available soon.

Posting Type
Postings fall into the following categories:

With the Posting type: With Newsgroups box checked, your search tries to match postings in all of the above categories. While there are many more postings in the Newsgroups, there are also more 'noise' postings. For a higher quality search result, uncheck this box and your search will exclude postings from Internet Newsgroups.

Abstracts
You can choose either with or without abstracts. With abstracts means that you will get a short description of the job posting on your results page. We recommend searching and getting your results without abstracts, even though it's less descriptive, it takes less time to load and the job titles are fairly descriptive in themselves.

Sort Order
We offer three types of postings here at the Help Wanted Network,. We offer newsgroup postings, direct crawled postings, and direct company postings. By choosing the without newsgroups option, you get higher quality postings that have been filtered by us at the Help Wanted Network. By choosing the with newsgroups option, you get search results from over 2 million postings from all over the world.

Type of Query
There are two types of queries that you can use. You can use our Structured Query, which is standard across the industry, or you can use a free-text query. We highly recommend using the Structured Query. For more information about Free-Text Queries, click
here.

Return # of matches
This option allows you to choose how many results are shown on your page at a time. We recommend using the default, which is 25. Reminder: the more results you choose to return, the longer the page takes to load (i.e., 10 results takes less time than 25 results).

Max Age
This option lets you choose the maximum age of the postings that you want to see. The default is 2 weeks. Set this to 'Any' if you want to see all of the current postings. Current postings are typically less than 1 month old. If you can't find what you are looking for in the current postings, try searching our
archive. Currently the archive has postings up to six months old.
